BIOGRAPHY

• 20-plus year Litchfield resident
• Worked in the IT field for over 40 years specializing in network, security and wireless solutions
• 4 years on the Watertown Inland Wetlands Commission
• Worked for New York Stock Exchange, CitiField, UConn Medical Center and the University of CT
• Served on the Board of Education for 6 years
• Served on the Broadband Commission for the past 3 years
• President of the Litchfield Lions Club for the past 13 years
• Serves on the Lions Club Board of Directors
• Serves on the Possum Queen Foundation's Board of Directors
• Served as Chairman for the Litchfield Republican Town Committee
• Graduate of Henry Abbott Technical High School
• Married to Dana, his wife of 24 years

STATEMENT

 Born and raised in New Milford to a family dedicated to community service, John Bongiorno is aware of the issues and needs of the people living in Northwestern CT. John’s career background has proved advantageous for the volunteer work he has done with the Broadband Commission which was tasked with bringing public Wi-Fi to Litchfield.  John has been the President of the Litchfield Lions Club for 13 years and running. He serves on the Board of Directors and is Chairman of the Distribution Committee for the Possum Queen Foundation Inc. which awards money to people suffering from financial hardship due to medical issues or other life altering events. John has also served as Chairman for the Litchfield Republican Town Committee. In his free time, you can find John at home with his wife of 24 years, Dana and their two rescue dachshunds, Freddie and Gretel.


With strong experiences in public and community service along with demonstrated leadership ability, John has and will continue to work tirelessly for the people of Litchfield and would be honored to serve as Selectman.
