STATEMENT

It is an honor to serve our great community and I am eager and optimistic to continue leading the progress we  have made together during these past four years. I am grateful to our town employees, the volunteers on our boards, commissions, nonprofit organizations and especially the people of Litchfield who have supported the many achievements that have positively impacted the lives of our residents.

One of the most significant accomplishments has been the consistent reduction of taxes over four consecutive years. With a deliberate focus on fiscal responsibility, technology upgrades, town marketing and strategic planning, we have managed to alleviate the burden on our hardworking taxpayers while still delivering essential services, infrastructure improvements and investing in our community's future. With budget surpluses, which are a result of closely watched financial management, grant revenue and investment income, we have been successful in borrowing less money for capital and infrastructure improvements, while keeping our financial obligations manageable. Concurrently, we maintain a healthy general fund and have reduced Litchfield’s per capita debt. This responsible fiscal approach has allowed us to prioritize crucial projects and address pressing infrastructure needs without burdening future generations.
