STATEMENT
I was born and raised in a small coastal town in Northern California, not unlike Litchfield; it too had historical charm, small businesses, and productive farms -- and it was a draw for tourism. Described as idyllic, I witnessed a rapid pace of change where the old was replaced with the new and self-interests were put before the community. Today, I'm concerned that I'm witnessing the very same here in Litchfield. Because of this, I've chosen to run for First Selectman.
Many surrounding towns have lost their identities to poor planning and unchecked growth. I support our local boards and commissions in their efforts, with a focus to ensure thoughtful change and calculated progress with the priority to preserve the Town of Litchfield's identity. I believe success is built on strong leadership, efficient operations, and an unwavering commitment to listening to others. These will be my principles in leading the Town of Litchfield as your First Selectman.
