BIOGRAPHY

• 20-year Litchfield resident
• A Selectman for 3 years
• Volunteered as a member of the Litchfield Education Foundation and the Litchfield Music Parents
• Served for one year on the Board of Finance before being appointed to the Board of Selectmen
• Chair of the Litchfield Traffic Safety Community group
• Helped to preserve the historic Bantam Cinema & Arts Center
• A certified School Business Administrator and Superintendent
• The World Language Coordinator for Region 10 Schools
• Earned her doctorate in Educational Leadership

STATEMENT

 Jodiann Tenney has been a Selectman for three years.  During this time, working collaboratively with Denise Raap and other Selectmen, Litchfield services have increased without a single year of increased property taxes.

Jodiann is Chair of the Litchfield Traffic Safety Community group which aims to increase the safety of pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers. Some accomplishments of this committee are: enhanced light at crosswalks, increased Your Speed signs, securing more than $135,000 in grant funding for road improvements, collaborative meetings with the state Department of Transportation, an upcoming installation of speed humps on West Street, and community outreach.

Jodiann also worked with a small group of community members to preserve the historic Bantam Cinema & Arts Center. The nearly 100-year-old cinema closed during the COVID-19 pandemic. When no buyers stepped up to the plate, Jodiann and the other group members created a non-profit to reopen the cinema which now is fiscally stable and provides vibrant educational and cultural programming. Jodiann now serves as the Center’s President, and is dedicated to historic preservation and maintaining the cultural vibrancy of Litchfield.

Jodiann also has a passion for travel and cultural education and currently works as the World Language Coordinator for Region 10 Schools.
